Program Description:
Journey into the jungle:
Staffing is set for Summer 2017 JWW trip to the headwaters of the Amazon in the jungles of Ecuador, with a side trip into the Andes. This once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to live for five days in an eco-lodge among the Sápara indigenous people, and three days high up in one of the world's great mountain ranges, will be led by Professors Pablo Calvi and Barbara Selvin.

Professor Calvi has visited the Sápara several times and knows what it takes to make this trip safe and comfortable. We'll paddle the Amazon in dugout canoes, witness an endangered, ancient way of life and report on the threats posed by proposed energy exploitation of Sápara land.
