Application Fee: This is a non-refundable fee required to process and maintain the application. This fee is paid to SBU on your SBU Study Abroad Portal.

Commitment/Administrative Fee: This fee covers pre-departure, post return and alumni events. Once you are accepted into your program you will have 3 business days from the date of your acceptance to commit to your participation in the program. Once you commit, the $200 Commitment/Administrative fee will appear on your SBU Solar student account under the New Student Folder section. The $200 commitment fee is non-refundable and does NOT offset against other fees.

Tuition, College and Academic Fees: SUNY students pay tuition and fees to their home campus; please consult your Study Abroad Office for applicable fees as these fees can vary within the SUNY system. SBU and Non-SUNY students pay tuition and fees to SBU through SBU's SOLAR student account. Graduate students pay the appropriate home campus or academic program rate. The rates above reflect the cost for taking 6 credits. Students interested in taking an additional 3 credits must inform their IAP Coordinator at the time of application submission, as this comes at an added expense.

Program Fee: This fee includes a shared apartment of 17+ students and a multiple occupancy bedroom,* 15 meal units, the FUA application fee, 1 week Cultural Introduction to Italy course (travel within Italy, some meals, accommodations, entrances for museums and exhibits).

*The cost sheet reflects the price for the 17+ student apartment and multiple occupancy bedroom. There is not a guarantee that this housing option will be available at the time students select their housing. Other housing accommodations are available for an additional fee. Click here to view housing supplements. If a student's preferred room or apartment size isn’t available, we encourage students to keep checking the portal, as it may become available again. Housing supplements will be billed directly to the student from FUA.

Other Projected Expenses:
Flight: Students are responsible for booking their own travel. Your IAP Coordinator will provide the group flight information.

Books and Academic Supplies: This fee can vary based on course selection and may include laboratory and course fees.
